Overwhelmed
“He rescued them from their distress. He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live. Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for all his wonderful deeds to them. For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (Psalm 107:6b-9).
The pressures of life can be overwhelming! Many times our very first waking thoughts can be ones of nervousness, fear and anxiety. The Lord, our amazing creator, the one who designed our minds, brain and entire beings knows us better than we know ourselves. That’s why He gave us comfort, safety and answers in His Word to us. For several months I have been “dwelling” in the words of Colossians Chapter 3. We are exhorted to set our sights on the realities of heaven.
Your life here on earth is oh-so-real – of course it is! But there is also a parallel life you live in your secret place. Your heavenly dwelling place, where you live in the courts of the Lord every single day, where you hear the voice of your King and Father. As we set our sights on that life – our heavenly life – we live in peace, joy, harmony, safety, prosperity, unlimited favor and I could go on and on and on.
Today, set your sights on where you live with Him. In your secret place is a very special place, where He invites us to run into whenever we feel overwhelmed. It’s His Tower of Strength, in the City of Refuge.
Today is my day to be rescued. Thank you Father that you are leading me straight to safety, to a city where I can live. You satisfy me and fill me up with good things. My strength is restored!
I pray that this ministers to you in the deep places of your heart.
Have a day full of peace and safety.
Love in Jesus,
Audrey
