Conquering the Giant
“David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head” (1 Samuel 17:45, 46).
David had already defeated the lion and the bear – and those victories had given him strength and confidence. It’s so clear that the Lord is the one who conquers the battle! The Holy Spirit is standing ready to defeat the enemy – who will join him? Everyone said “no” except David.
Who is your Goliath? Who is your enemy? Your enemy is not a person (we aren’t called to fight against flesh and blood) but rather a lie or an accusation that you believe about lack. Lies like “You aren’t protected, you never will be. You will never have enough money. Your family will never have victory. There is no emotional freedom available for you, because you have experienced too much pain. You’re unlovable and undesirable. You will never succeed, it is inevitable you will ultimately fail. You aren’t important or valuable. I could go on and on, but this is seriously depressing! But, we have to write those out, because as Bob and I help people fight for their families, these are the messages that most people live by, if they were too be deeply honest with their heart condition.
It’s time to put a name to the GIANT that is attempting to taunt you, scare you and intimidate you into hiding. For me personally, the giant’s name is FAILURE. Failure has had a voice into my heart, reminding me of my mistakes and opportunities that passed me by. Layer upon layer, I have identified the lies that go along with FAILURE and I have been adamant about gaining ground in the areas of God’s promise of protection, provision and promotion. But the plot thickens!
Recently, during a worship service, I heard the whisper of God say, “Audrey, this is the appointed time to take out that smooth stone from your sling, and kill that giant once and for all”. I saw the whole thing happen in my secret place! I acted in faith, and the giant went down, and I began to walk into a new dawn of future, hope and a promise!
When you conquer this lie or accusation, it is the very thing that will launch the champion in you!
Today is my day to kill the giant - the lie and accusation that the enemy has been over-using to defeat me. I call him on it! He has over-played his cards, and I am aware of this scheme. I recognize the power of the Holy Spirit within me to speak truth with authority, power and the name of Jesus Christ. I am a conqueror! This very thing will be the catalyst to catapult me to live as a champion!
We love you!
Audrey
