I Never Would Have Dreamed...

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you” (Deut. 31:6 NLT).

Have you ever said something like: “I never dreamed that my life would end up like this...or that someone in my family would do that!”

Last night we were visiting with our kid’s friends (love those super-sweet kids in their 20’s) and this was the direction of our conversation.  Who would have guessed it? When I look back at life, really good things have happened that I never would have expected, and painful things have happened beyond what I would have expected.

There’s nothing wrong with making a plan and setting goals, but we all know that there are circumstances that have the potential to interrupt our ides.  We can’t always control the events of our life and family, but we do have a choice as to what we will do when things happen and how we respond.

Imagine with me the reality of the scripture mentioned above!  God is personally going before you.  He will never fail your, and He will never leave you.  There is no need to be anxious or panic.  It’s true, you wouldn’t have dreamed this would have happened to you, but think of the amazing things that have happened that you couldn’t have ever asked for or imagined!  What rest we can have knowing that because of Jesus we have strength and courage beyond our own abilities.

Today is my day to remember:

When I fall, I get back up.  When I am faced with hardship, I choose to be thankful.  When I face rejection, I choose to love and forgive.
